MATT SMITH

Major:             AYA Social Studies Education. Minor in Political Science.         

1. I want my friends to describe me as: Outspoken, funny, awkward, caring, tall, HUGE sports fan, and sometimes lazy -_-                                                               
2. Memorable learning experience: Alvin Beggs’ Modern America class. Loved it.
3. My favorite subject at school and why:  History. It absolutely fascinates me. I can’t get enough of it. I love learning about the past and how it has shaped the world that I live in today.
4. Accomplishment I most cherish: All of my high school golf accomplishments.

5. My work habits can best be described as: There’s no denying that I’m lazy at times, but when it comes down to it, I get things done and I’m a hard worker.                                                            
6. Three words that describe me best: A swell guy.
7. People may be surprised to know:  I don’t chew a lot of my foods for some reason, and swallow most of them whole.                                              
8. What I hope to be doing in ten years:  Teaching high school students some history! Hopefully coaching a sport as well.

9. What I do in my spare time: I’m a video game nerd. Can’t get enough of them. I also love playing sports and listening to all kinds of music.                                                            
10. Things I can do without: Negativity. Being positive about EVERYTHING, no matter what it may be, lets you live a much more happy, fulfilling life.             
11. My all-time favorite movie:  Shawshank Redemption!

13. Three things always found in my refrigerator: Cheese, cheese, Assortment of beverages.              
14. Person I would like to meet: John Mayer. His music is moving. I would love to sit down and have an intelligent conversation with him.
15. What are your general expectations about this class? Hopefully to learn more about Macs. I’ve always been a PC person.
16. How comfortable are you using Windows? How comfortable are you using Macs? Windows is easy-mode for me. Macs, not so much. I know the basics on Macs but not too much more.
17. Which application(s) do you use the most? Microsoft word or Safari.
18. Which application(s) do you want to learn how to use? PowerPoint
19. Is there anything I need to know about you? I’m obsessed with having mind-boggling conversations with people about anything. Anything that can stretch the mind I love talking about. Other than that, all of my basics are on this!

What is your attitude about using technology? Love/hate relationship. It’s the greatest thing in the world, but when it fails, I get a little frustrated. I just think technology is too heavily relied on nowadays.
